Involving Children, Young People and their Families

We have many routes for involving children and young people in the decisions that affect them. We are seeking to create a consistent and more effective framework through the North Lincolnshire Participation strategy for Young People.

The strategy is based on the National Youth Agency Hear By Right Model and as produced by the Voice and Influence group, supported by the Youth Service. The Voice and Influence Practitioners sub group meets regularly to evaluate how young people are participating in the decision making process.

Information is fed in to the group on consultations which have taken place with young people on issues which affect their lives. Young people have been involved in consultations on Building Schools for the Future, Extended Schools, the Local Strategic Partnership, development of the Crosby Neighbourhood Pathfinder, and the Children and Young People’s Plan.
