In April 2009, North Lincolnshire was awarded funding of £1.13 million to develop and increase the range of short breaks for disabled children and young people, through the Aiming High for Disabled Children programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to improve the lives of disabled children and their families, who have been key in making decisions on the type of services they would like to be developed across North Lincolnshire.
We have the honour of announcing that Christine Lenehan OBE, Director of the Council for Disabled Children, will be our Guest Speaker at this event. Christine is a highly acclaimed national speaker, who is a true advocate for disabled children, young people and their families, and is absolutely inspirational to parents and professionals alike.
You will have the opportunity to attend two of the following workshops, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Key Service Areas are keen to hear how they can work in partnership with parents and help improve accessibility, information and processes.
A. Play and Leisure Services
B. Integrated Youth Support Services
C. Community Services for Younger children
D. School Support and Transition
