Workforce Strategy
Workforce Strategy
The '2020 Children and YoungPeople's Workforce Strategy', published by the DCSF in December 2008, describes how the Government will ensure that everyone in the children and young people’s workforce has the training and support to deliver the vision that everyone who works with children and young people should be:
- ambitious for every child and young person;
- excellent in their practice;
- committed to partnership and integrated working; and
- respected and valued as professionals
The strategy also sets out priorities for improvement across the children and young people’s workforce. In response to this national strategy, a North Lincolnshire Children's Trust Workforce Development Group (CTWDG) has been established to lead on work to develop an integrated workforce and work is ongoing to re-develop a local workforce strategy.
The CTWDG has established a series of sub groups to develop specific workforce issues which will inform the re-developing local workforce strategy (due to be published late 2009). One of the key aims of the local strategy will be to ensure that all children and young people are in contact with safe adults, who are properly recruited, trained and supervised. All partners will have an important role in the re-development and implementation of the local workforce strategy. The Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) will also support this work.
